Wrap up warm Gomac as it has turned a bit chilly over here but the snow on the hills will make it all the more picturesque for you.
Safe journey and enjoy your trip - in 6 days time I will be enjoying the delights of NYC. :0)
fofoma...Enjoy the big apple!
If you enjoy your seafood make sure to visit the Kinlochleven seafood cafe and the seafood temple along gallanachroad in oban just along from the manor house.
The pier house in Appin is overrated and over price compared to these 2 places.
Have a nice time
There is snow on them there hills over in Argyll today, and an icy blast from the north. Scarves and hats are definitely the order of the day, this week at least.
Have a great trip!
gwamac...thanks for those names. To all...thanks again..will bring warmer than usual. Is a lot of rain forecast also?
Have a great trip Gomac! If you are a lover of seafood, and you are in Oban, then you must try the scallops in garlic butter from the wooden shack down near the Calmac ferry terminal.Out of this world! Safe trip!
Have a good trip, and look out for the Treasure Trail booklets in the Tourist Information Centres.
A great way for you to explore a place and burn off some of all that food you will be eating!
PS If we say yes to the rain forecast, you will get a bonus if it stays dry!
I'll look for the Treasure Trail booklets...never seen them before. Thanks for all the good wishes...we are really looking forward to it. That fish stand on the pier is one of the places we plan to have lunch. We fly Tuesday, arrive Wednesday at LHR Term 3 then to Term 1 and BMI to Glasgow and as one of you suggested, a car rental from Willie Wallace @ Celtic ledgends and we are on our way. A night at De Veres Cameron House @ Loch Lomand and onto to An Lochan for lunch and to the Dungallan House Hotel @ Oban for 3 nights before we head to Port Appin and Airds Hotel for 3 nights.
We have lunch scheduled at Tayvallich Inn on Friday and dinner at EE-USK on Thursday evening. Saturday should bring a trip to Mull/Iona and we might take a tour to Fingal's Cave. Depends on the weather.
What is Scottish for something like au revoir?
