beware

Just come back from Loch Awe, we were enjoying our holiday when a few people went down with norovirus (diarrhoea and sickness) so they closed down the hotel and we all had to come home early.Evidently this was not the only hotel it happened to. So check before you go.

Hi there

If more than one hotel was affected, it's likely that the virus is "in the general area" rather than being "the fault" of a specific accommodation due to poor hygiene.

We stayed at the Loch Awe Hotel.

The virus is probably in the area but it's best to check with the hotel you are going to in case they have had it as it takes a lot to eradicate it completely. I heard that it was in Glasgow as well but don't know if this is true.

Stayed in Glasgow very recently but no sign of anything nasty there that I observed, thankfully...

It is easy to stay healthy when surrounded by norovirus

- wash your hands and don't touch your face/mouth/nose until you have done so.

it's mainly transmitted by NOT performing a very simple task after having used the toilet....

not always the fault of a hotel or accommodation provider as it's impossible to disinfect everything all the time

We can be careful to wash hands diligently but how can we be sure that anyone who touches food etc. does the same, as I said it is very hard to get rid of it completely, not everyone is particular about hygeine
