Help! Need a room in Edin for May

A friend will be in Edinburgh during May for a wedding at the Balmoral. She is taking the train up from London. She needs to be able to stay close to that Hotel so that she can take advantage of the wedding activities. We are trying to secure her a place online but are having trouble finding something she can afford, and because we don't know the area surrounding Waverly/Balmoral, we are not sure how far out she can go and still be close enough to Princes Street. She'd like a B&B...Any suggestions??

I am not very familiar with the central Edinburgh area, but this popped up. The price is as cheap as you will find anywhere.

This hotel doesni look too bad either. These may be at least ideas to go on.

there are lots of B&Bs in the Minto street/ Newington area of the city, though not close to the Balmoral it is only a 15 minute bus ride away and lots of buses from that area go right into Princes street,at a push it is walkable

an alternative might be the Travelodge on St Mary's street, about a 5 minute walk from the Balmoral.
