Silly beverage question

i know, this is probably a silly question.

At your average restaurant, what beverages would you expect to see on the menu? As far as sodas, what are common?

(I'm a big fan of Fentiman's Ginger Beer and Irn-Bru, and wondering if those are common in restaurants, also assuming 'iced' teas usually arent!)

Belle, I think its fair to say you won't find root beer on sale in restaurants here, lol. Fentiman's Ginger beer may be a bit of a tall order. I've seen it in the occasional shop, but so far not in a restaurant. Irn Bru - no problem!

Fentimans Ginger Beer is a rarity here, so I snatch it up when I can.

If I can get Irn Bru, my soda/juice/pop/ginger needs are fulfilled!

now .......you can add ginger wine to your whisky (blended not sigle malt) it is a very nice little night cap or warmer upper after a cold day outside.

it is known as a whisky Mac,or sometimes a Scotsmac.

Hi Belle,

Ginger wine a good one is called Crabbies. Not any bar or restaurants stock this though.

Ginger Beer had more possibilities than Ginger Wine.

In Bru you will get in most bars and hotels/restaurants.

Juice, fresh or bottle for example j20's in many places too.

Have a great times

Best wishes

HBL,plenty of the bars I go into stock either Crabbies or Stones Ginger wine and certainly I have had a whisky mac in a pub on several occasions.maybe I just go to the lowlife bars ( as befits my station in life) and not the trendy places you frequent.

I remember being asked in Tesco's in Perth by this wee woman " Where's the ginger?"

On starting to point her down the aisle where the baking ingredients were - to her great confusion - she told me "No that sort o' ginger - lemonade an' that" Being an Edinburgh lass - I had never heard that before. LOL

Most people that I know would call it juice and pop reminds me of Enid Blyton.;o)

Did you have a dog called Timmy, Dicanio....?
