Bus or Taxi to Mortonhall Caravan Park

Hello

We are arriving by train (Early August) and wondered if anyone knows how to get to Mortonhall Caravan Park. We will have full camping gear so a taxi maybe more suitable - does anyone have any ideas of the cost of this?

Also we believe there is a bus that goes to the site does anyone know the number.

Hope someone can help - thanks.

Bus number 11 will take you from Princes St (very close to Waverley Station) all the way to the caravan park at Mortonhall, which is on the outskirts of Edinburgh, so would be an expensive taxi fare.

Come out of the station, and stay on the Castle/Gardens side of Princes St, and find a stop with the number 11 on it. Not all buses stop at all stops on Princes St - they are grouped by destination.

Single fare is £1.20 each, exact money required. If you are planning on pitching your tent and heading back into town, best bet is to get a £3 day ticket which is valid on all buses.

The No 11 bus takes about 25 minutes from Princes Street to Mortonhall and then there is a short walk down to the caravan / camping area. A taxi will cost between £9 - £12 depending on numbers etc.

Not all No 11 buses go via Mortonhall. There are some that go to Fairmilehead and they are no good to you. You need a bus going to to Hyvots Bank. Some 11 buses have boards on the front saying they go to Mortonhall.

Ask the driver when you board the bus just to be sure. You will be left with a long walk if you get the wrong bus.
