Stag Party

Hi all,

We are a party of 15-20 heading to Edinburgh at the beginning of April for my stag party and I've got the following questions:

1. Accommodation - I've been on a couple of stag parties and find that the best atmosphere is when the group of lads share a self-catering apartment. Does anyone have any good recommendations please?

2. Things to do during the day to ensure that we don't get too drunk too early. The party will vary in age and abilities so can't all go rock climbing or bridge swinging. Was thinking on outdoor buggies and possibily clay pigeon shooting. Wouldnt mind going to see some of the countryside. Any other good suggestions?

Many thanks in advance,

W.

Lots of self catering accommodation in Edinburgh. http://www.festivalapartments.com specifically advertise large apartments suitable for hens and stags, but your best bet is just to do some googling and then ask here for specific advice re location and suitability once you've got a shortlist.

There's a couple of places you could go carting (if you'll pardon the pun): http://www.raceland.co.uk/ and http://www.xtremekarting.co.uk are options. Googling "Clay pigeon shooting" and "Edinburgh" turned up these guys - maybe someone can make a recommendation: scottishclayshoot.com/edinburgh-clay-shootin…

If for evening entertainment you are seeking.... ahem.... traditional stag fare, Edinburgh is a pretty relaxed city in this department. Head to the Lothian Road/West Port area and seek Bottom's Up, the Burke and Hare, and The Western. Or so I'm told.

For paintballing try this crowd who have been around a long time. bedlampaintball.co.uk/paintball-edinburgh.ht…

Beware of Festival Apartments, there are loads of complaints about them if you search on this forum, but hey if you want to fit a load of stag guys in one place then maybe you won't care about the quality.
