One night in Edinburgh - Where to stay?

Anyone out there have any suggestions of a nice hotel close to the old town in Edinburgh to stay? I'm planning on taking my mom (all the way from sunny Cape Town, SA...) for a trip to Edinburgh in December. No doubt she will be freezing, so I would like to be close and central.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

SAS Radisson, Missoni, Travelodge Edinburgh Central & Jurys Inn spring to mind - but how many rooms will you want and what's your budget? You could also have a look at the links to "Edinburgh hotels" to the left of this page - The Old Town is to the south of the Royal Mile

Again I will recommend the Hotel Missoni. Wonderful hotel,.wonderful location,.wonderful breakfast. For dinner the Witchery is just round the corner book the theatre menu for a bargain meal

Most likely I'll just get a twin room - or two rooms! Budget wise it all really depends ons the hotel. If it is worth it then I'm willing to spend more money, but I was thinking around £170 for the one night.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll have a look at all mentioned. Like the idea of dinner at the Witchery... :-)

Thanks!
