Christmas Day in Edinburgh

Does anyone know of any restaurants that are going to be open on Christmas Day? We are hopefully going to be staying at The Roxburghe Hotel which is doing xmas lunch but we would prefer to go out somewhere. Can anyone recommend anything for us, we would like traditional xmas type meal for under £60 per person.

Thanks

Hi. Plenty of hotels offer Christmas dinner. Under £60 will be a real struggle in the city centre though.

Here are some suggestions, all of these places are centrally located and popular.

Apex on Grassmarket, £69

The George offer a buffet, £69.95

For something a bit different, and within budget- the Zoo! £59

Here are 3 options for Christmas Lunch / Dinner, I'm sure you will find more by searching the internet,

The following option is £75 but will be good and close to where you are staying.

townhousecompany.com/thebonham/restaurant/ch…

Good food but not sure what will be on the menu

lochfyne-restaurants.com/restaurants/edinbur…

Probably your cheapest option but perhaps not what you had in mind!

Thank you for these suggestions, they all look nice. I would be open too try something other than traditional Christmas lunch. Perhaps Indian but not so keen on Chinese.

Do you know of any good Indian restaurants that may be open for xmas?

Or perhaps any pubs rather than hotels?

Thanks

We like the Bombay Bicycle Club

6 Broughton Street, Edinburgh EH3 9HW, Scotland

Advertise Christmas Dinner on their website

http://www.mithas.co.uk/

Has a very good reputation

Many Indian restaurants will be open on Christmas but I would call to double check.

We love Indian Food & Edinburgh has many fantastic Indian restaurants, have not been anywhere except India that has better Indian food than Scotland.

That's great, thanks for all those restaurants, I'll have a look into it.

And brianpolo the reason I'm looking for other places than the hotel for Christmas Dinner is because we are staying at The Roxburghe Hotel and the Christmas Lunch there is £85 each which I feel is a lot and then there would be drinks on top of that.
