where to go on New Year's Eve?

We have a few nights booked in Edinburgh over Hogmanay - can anyone suggest a reasonably priced event we could go to on New Year's Eve - doesn't need to include food, but we would like some dancing. And it does need to be indooors. Thanks for any suggestions!

Try the Keilidh http://www.edinburghshogmanay.com/

or for something slightly smaller and more sophisticated http://www.ghillie-dhu.co.uk/pages/1837/

There is also the Grand Hogmanay ball at the refurbished Assembly Rooms on George Street. One of the grandest venues in Edinburgh in my opinion.

The event is organised by Edinburghers and is a mix of locals and tourists.

Have fun whatever you end up doing!

Good choice, it's where I will be (born and bred Edinburgh). You'll be hard pushed to find a local at the street party - well unless its their first time......

Really - I'm surprised to hear that? We have been to the Assembly rooms twice in the past for NYE, but I don't think it was organised by the Sunday Brunch Club. Now the refrubishment has been done, I am sure it will be stunning. See you there!

I meant the street party outside. You only do that once, then realise it's too cold to do it again.

The Assembly Rooms are looking stunning now.

Some locals do go. The hardy ones. The ones who don't worry about what's under their kilt.

However you'll find one of the ceilidhs much more genteel compared with nature in the raw.
