Caledonian, Balmoral or Tigerlily

I just can't decide on the best hotel option for this surprise first anniversary weekend. The caledonian, Balmoral or Tigerlily...

Important things are: a good breakfast, some traditional scottisch feel (love the whisky at caley bar and the kilted porters at the balmoral), something to remember, ...

Thanks in advance for your advice!

Definitely the Balmoral, seeped in History and you can't get more Scottish.

Tigerlily is more trendy but less "Scottish" and much smaller than the other two.

The Caley (Now Waldorf Astoria!) has just had a multi million pound makeover so would be top notch standard. Balmoral is always fantastic too. Might be down to the best deal you can get on one or the other.

Balmoral and Caledonian are pretty similar, except opposite ends of Princes Street with different castle views.

It's a tricky one, as there's very little to separate them. Having recently been for afternoon tea in the Caley, the refurb definitely has the 'wow' factor to a local like me.

Tiger Lily is lovely, but not 'Scottish' as per your request.

Whichever one you choose, have a lovely weekend in Edinburgh!
