Suggestions for a 2 days stay in Edinburgh

Please could you suggest what is worthwhile to do for a 2 days stay in Edinburgh?

Also, could you advise any good hostel around or may be a accommodation that is let out on daily basis.

It really depends what you fancy doing....the castle is a bit of a stereotype but expensive entry fee and a bit heavy on Scottish history for my liking. Walking and seeing the sights is a good option. Take a hike up Arthur's Seat, visit the only pandas in the UK at the zoo, walk along the Water of Leith from Murrayfield to Stockbridge have a coffee there then on to the botanic gardens and back into town from Canonmills. The Royal Yacht Britannia at Leith. Dynamic Earth is good and the Museum on Chambers St is excellent (and free!). Bring comfortable shoes and a warm coat!! There's a YHA youth hostel on Leith Walk which is close to town and has only been there a few years so should be ok.
