Glasgow for 2 Days Before Iona Pilgrimage

We will be visiting Glasgow April 8-10 and are staying at the Buchanan Hotel (185 Buchanan St, central Glasgow) and are seeking recommendations for lunch and dinner, within reasonable walking distance, in the 10-20 GBP range. We are fond of all kinds of international cuisine, just not big fans of heavy, greasy food.

Someone suggested a bus tour to see the city- what are the "must-see" sights?

Do check through the links on this page for things to do and restaurant reviews, as well as past threads on the forum which have excellent recommendations.

The two sites below are useful for restaurant reviews/booking/listings and on the 5pm site you can check out restaurants by location, cuisine and price:

5pm.co.uk

list.co.uk

www.glasgowguide.co.uk has a handy downloadable tourist map so you can get your bearings and locate attractions.

www.seeglasgow.com is worth a peek too.

The bus tour is indeed well worth it if you are not familiar with the city, and the ticket can be used over two days. You can hop on and off at your leisure and it stops at places of interest such as Glasgow's west end and the Kelvingrove Museum which I would highly recommend:

As your hotel is next to an underground station (The Tube/Subway) you may wish to use this to get around. An all day ticket (called Discovery) costs £3.50 and allows unlimited travel after 0930
