Glasgow with kids

Hi folks, bringing my wee brood aged 7,9,10 and 12 for a couple of days this weekend before the schools go back and wondered if anyone could give me advice on things to do and places to eat. The kids are well behaved and up for trying anything foodwise.

Have read stuff on trip advisor and thought about kelvingrove or pollock park what do you think?

Thanks for any help x

The Science Centre is brilliant for all that agegroup with hands on stuff to do, a cool planetarium and IMAX theatre there is something for everyone. It isn't cheap but you can use your Tesco points if you send off for the voucher in advance. http://www.glasgowsciencecentre.org/

Kelvingrove is great, lot to keep them amused and free.

Pollock Park has nice gardens ,Highland Cattle, The Burrell Collection and Pollock House.

As mentioned the Science Centre is a good day out, both it and the car park cost money. Across from the Science Centre is the Tall Ship, fee payable here too.

Xscape further out in Braehead, has crazy golf, climbing wall, snowboarding, 10 pin bowling and other attractions which will eat your money.

As for places to eat, where are you staying?

I agree Kelvingrove Museum is great for kids. You could also try Scotland Street School Museum (closed Mondays) - take a trip on the Underground to Shields Rd. They might like to see what school was like when their parents or grandparents went. Glasgow Green is good for a kick about or there's a great playpark for climbing, close to Templeton Business Centre. The People's Palace (closed Mondays) is in the Green too and upstairs they could learn a bit of Glesga patter. All of these museums have nice cafes/ restaurants and entrance is free to all Glasgow Museums. You'll not be stuck for things to do, the problem might be in the deciding what to do from a big choice.
