Taxi only quick direct way to get to centre from airport ?

Hi

I was planning to get the 500 from the airport into central Glasgow to catch the trains from Glasgow central. I believe that the council and bus company have stopped this from 31/07/2011?

With this now stopped is the only way for me to go direct to central Glasgow from the airport now by Taxi? Or am I wrong? This is going to cost me twice as much I think. I am a bit gutted.

Best wishes

Kitty

No,there were 2 bus companies running in competion and Arriva has now given up the fight.

The First Glasgow service continues as before. It's a silver/blue bus marked Glasgow Shuttle and is a frequent, reliable service.

The airport bus runs 24 hours a day and around every 15 minutes - I saw the bus yesterday going past my house (I live on the route) and it is emblazoned across the side of it.

I believe the Arriva bus does still run but under a different number. The bus is much cheaper than an airport cab, definitely and will take roughly the same amount of time, too.
