New year

We will be staying in th arthouse abode hotel on New Year's Eve, leaving for the airport early evening New Year's Day. Any suggestions for things to do? We will have a car. Will anything be open? Thanks in advance.

At least you have a car which helps!

Museums etc will be closed, some pubs/Restaurants will be open, shops will be closed.

My choice on NYD, weather permitting, is a wee drive down to Loch Lomond and a wee walk along the shore, only takes about 35-40 mins.

Depending when your flight is and where you drop the car you could just take route direct to the airport over the Erskine Bridge in approx 25 mins from Loch Lomond.

Glasgow city centre tends to be quiet on New Year's Day (N'eer Day) but there will be a few stores open offering sales (Debenhams and Zara to name a few) as well as a few bars, cafes and restaurants.

Happy N'eer Day (when it comes) as they say in Glasgow!

Of course!

Ne'er Day!

It's all in the placement of the ' and the Glaswegian accent!
