Help with Hotel Location

Coming through for a concert at the SECC in March. We usually stay at Carlton George and get a very good price. Not this time though, so looking for advice on a hotel within 10 minutes or so walking from Buchanan ST bus station, and same within walking distance again from the SECC after the show.

Don't mind Premier or Holiday Inn chains or any other suggestions welcome.

Thanks.

PI Charing Cross, Hilton Williams St, Marriott and Menzies are in my opinion of equal distance between the two, but remember a taxi from the city centre to the Hydro is only around £6 so you could open it up to other hotels if the deal is right!

Thanks all. Narrowed it down to the PI Charring Cross or the Ibis. Same price for both so which would you go for if you were two girls...high heels, and had to walk from the bus station to the hotel, then walk from hotel to Secc and back!!!!!!!!!

PS we won't have HH on when walking from bus station to hotel.

BTW madscotsman, we're not anti taxi's, just prefer to walk whilst we still can.

Thanks.

No offence taken, it's just I get a lot of girls with high heels jumping into the Cab going literally a couple of hundred yards!!

Not being a girl nor having worn high heels I couldn't possibly guess which hotel would be the easier to get to, but the Ibis is around 400 yds less from Buchanan Bus Stn but that means the PI is 400 yds nearer the Hydro!

Your route to the Hydro should be as follows;

Walk down to St Vincent St and along to Finnieston St past McDonalds and either cross over the covered Walkway from Finnieston Stn to the SECC or follow the cars down round the new Car Park.

HaHa...very good. Thanks madscotsman, looks like Ibis will be our choice. Looked at some reviews and seem fair enough for the price.

Thanks again. I will be back at some point to ask about directions from bus station to hotel.

Come out bus Stn John Lewis side turn right and walk over to Cineworld walk down W.Nile St for 2 blocks then turn right into Bath St and walk right up over the brow of the hill turning left into Pitt St past Novotel then turn right and you are there, 10-12 mins in sensible shoes!
