Airport hotels

Hi we're coming back to Glasgow from Fort William to spend a night before flying to Dublin next day with probably Aer Lingus. I think they fly out of Glasgow airport but don't know where that is in relation to Queen St station. The Campanile Airport Hotel has a good rate at present. Is this near the airport we will be flying out from? Or can you suggest any other hotels not necessarily Airport hotels but on the correct side of the city?

It's about 25 minutes on the airport bus from Queen St to the airport.

The Campanile Airport is in fact nowhere near the airport.

There are about 6 hotels at the airport itself and the Holiday Inn is closest, just across from the terminal.

You could also look at The Holiday Inn Express at the airport.

You can get a cab to the airport for £20 or so. It really does not matter where in central Glasgow you stay. Just check booking.com for your dates. the Premier Inn chains are very good. I would not stay at the airport unless you have a really early flight.

Yes it is no where near the airport so not worth considering, as Ron says stay in Glasgow City Centre and have access to bars and Restuarants on your last night.

Aer Lingus fly from Glasgow International Airport which is only 8 miles from the city centre, remember on your other thread we told you about the airport bus taking only 20 mins at £6 each

I second staying in Glasgow City centre and enjoying final evening in city before getting airport bus from bus/railway st. This cheap direct frequent and easily accessible service is alternative to taxi.

Even if you're leaving from Glasgow airport early there's arguably little benefit to staying at the airport, the bus/taxi ride is an easy 20 or so minutes. Anywhere in the city centre is fine for the airport, but If you're coming into Queen St station then I guess you might want to get a hotel as close as possible - The Carlton George hotel is literally right next to the station, whilst the Premier Inn city centre (George St) and Park Inn by Radisson are a couple of blocks E and W of the station respectively, they all seem to get decent reviews on TA.

If you want to be (a little) closer to the airport, but still in town, then you might consider the W End too. A pleasant place to stay with plenty bars/restaurants etc. There is a campanile by the SECC near Finnieston if you're looking for a budget option.

Airport bus stop is one block up on Waterloo St outside Indigo Hotel, look out for the large green Jet graphic on the glass of the bus shelter.
