Recommended day trip - question

As a day trip from Aviemore -- one of the days that we expect to do quite a bit of driving -- which of these two options would you recommend?

The Gairloch and Poolewe drive described here:

undiscoveredscotland.co.uk/ustours/gairloch-…

(this looks like it would be a VERY long day, most spent in the car)

or

A drive to Glencoe which we estimate will be about 2 hours each way, so we'd have some time to explore the area.

This will be for two adults and an older teen this July. This is for just one day of ten in the area. We don't have any particular agenda for this day. Just looking for scenery, new places to experience and explore, etc.

Thanks for any advice.

hmmmm.... difficult choice.

Both trips are very worthwhile. I guess if you want to explore the area you're better off heading for Glencoe. Some great scenery and walks there.

The other trip means driving a lot but also very worthwhile. It depends on the weather. if it's a nice clear day go for the Gairloch option as you get some stunning views then. If it's a bit cloudy then head for Glencoe.

Hope this helps. As I mentioned before, a difficult choice...

Rene

PS Keep an eye on www.visitaviemore.com for other things to do in the area.
