Eating Out in Aviemore

A few of us are coming up to celebrate a special birthday with a friend (who doesn't know where she is going) and we're looking for somewhere for a nice meal on the Saturday night.

Any recommendations?

Cairngorm Hotel does great food, huge portions (be warned), and delicious.

What about La Taverna at the end of "the village" ? Good food, plenty of space for a group and nice atmosphere.

Mind you The Cairngorm takes some beating - and YES - the portions are huge!

There is also the Old Bridge Inn which sometimes has live music and its just a short walk from the main street

For a great coffee during the day with to die for home baking go to Mountain Cafe in the main street up past Tesco (going North)

Another vote here for the Cairngorm Hotel. Excellent quality and huge portions. The Winking Owl is a bit more chilled out and nice for a drink afterwards.

Another vote for both La Taverna and Cairngorm Hotel but depends on what food you prefer. Found both good but recommend booking a table as both very busy especially on a Saturday evening. Also agree with Woody on cakes, etc at the Mountain Cafe. Enjoy your celebrations.
