Hi, don't know Inverness at all - can someone point me in the direction of a shopping centre/good shops I can spend a couple of hours in while hubs there on business?

Thanks......

The Victorian Market is directly opposite the station. If you walk all the way through, you will come to the main shopping street which leads down to the river. Alternatively, with your back to the station, turn left. A hundred yards (max) in front is the new shopping cntre. The town centre is relatively small, but has some interesting shops

a whisky shop - scotchwhisky.net/retail/…tws_inverness.htm - though there are indeed more than one. Try a lovely warm silky, smoky west coast single malt.

Out of town (some further out of town than others!)

Anta in Tain - lovely stoneware and tartan material www.anta.co.uk/

Johnstons of Elgin - lovely cashmere - www.johnstonscashmere.com

www.brodiecountryfare.com - a sort of strange country shopping experience.

Happy shopping!

Would agree with first reply, the main shopping centre right next to the station has plenty of shops to keep you occupied. Nice cafe in Marks & lovely toffee meringues in Girvans just outside the centre!

There is a big shopping center, Eastgate Center just off the downtown core. Lots of typical mall fare including Debenhams, M&S but you can spend some time there and it is out of the elements.

Thanks for taking the time to answer guys... went shopping yesterday and found the centre quite quckly but unfortunately didn't set foot outside to explore any further... snow, driving rain and perishing cold!

Did manage to spend some £'s tho' and Inverness is pretty and interesting so we'll pop back up when the weather is fit for a little sightseeing.

If you feel brave and willing to travel out of the town a bit there is a retail park on the nairn road (A96) with all the usual suspects.
