Eating in Inverness

Going to Inverness for a short break. Looking for some places to eat that are basic, clean and inexpensive like cafes or pubs. Have transport so can be around the city. Been told that cabbies haunts are the best to choose.

Pizza Express is really nice in Inverness.

Zizzi's is good too.

Girvans and Artysans cafe are both good.

How low key are you looking for? Charlie's cafe by the bus station is popular with cabbies - but not a classy place!

I'd second the Girvans recommendation - lush paninis.

Abs :)

Thanks will look into them all. Was told idea behind cabbies haunts is that they are usually busy so food is fresh and have to be reasonably priced.

Girvans gets another vote from me, but you will queue at busy times.

the Castle Cafe on Castle street is good, and decent prices.

also check out early evening deals, you often can eat for about £10 between 6-8 pm,

ps good to see recomendation for kool runings, want to go there on our enxt visit!
