Getting to Urquhart castle from Inverness (no car)

We will be visiting Inverness next month. I was looking at doing a Jacobite cruise, but wanted to combine it with a visit to Urquhart Castle. I notice, however, that their packages include admission to the castle and we will have already purchased a Scottish Explorer pass which will cover our admission. So now I am thinking that we should do a cruise only with them, and explore the castle on our own. I am wondering how difficult it is to get from Inverness (city centre) to Drumnadrochit generally, and Urquhart castle in particular.

Thanks in advance!

You can get the City link No 919 from Inverness to the castle.

Takes about half an hour
