We are thinking of taking the train from Edinburgh to Pitlochry as a day trip later this month. The idea is to be able to tour both the Edradour and Blair Atholl distilleries and then return. Are they both within walking distance of the train station? Is there anything else we could fit in one day in Pitlochry?

Edradour is a little bit out of town, approx 3 miles. Blair Atholl is near the south end of town, approx a mile from the station (it's approx 2 miles between the two).

A few tips for what else to do can be found here: http://www.pitlochry.org/

yes they are walkable but what I would suggest is for you to take a taxi from the train station to Edradour, then after a tour walk to the Moulin inn for lunch and try a beer from their on site micro brewery, from there it is a fairly easy downhill walk into Pitlochry and to the Blair Atholl distillery
