I would say go to Prestwick instead - a much better night out and all the bars are on the same street. If you want your night to continue that bit longer you could head in to Ayr for a nightclub.

Are you going for a meal while you're out?

You have a big choice of pubs and restaurants in Ayr if thats the sort of thing you are looking at doing. There are a handful of clubs that stay open very late too. I'd tend to follow what helshaw recommends but thats a personal preference coming from someone much older. Ayr can get a bit too lively for some tastes on a weekend, and if you are relying on getting a taxi from the marshalled and sometimes policed taxi rank in boswell park at 3 in the morning you might be joining an incredibly long queue. On the other hand it could be just what you want. Prestwick would be a good alternative.

Driving? Half an hourish. Most of the curry houses in Ayr do early bird offers.

If you're going into Ayr then - we're in our thirties and would recommend The Honest Man and O'Briens at the top of the town and they both play live music at the weekend. McArthurs and Boswells are a bit livelier with a DJ but a bit of a younger crowd.

If you fancy going dancing go to Fury Murrys - a mixed crowd with a good selection of music.

Would recommend Rupee Room and Ayr India for early bird curries (Wellington Square)

If you fancy a pub crawl start at one end of Prestwick Main Street and work your way along!

Why don't you go into Girvan for the night. It's only 5/10 minutes in a taxi and there's plenty of pubs along the main street. A crowd of us golfers stayed at Dailly for the weekend last October and went into Girvan on each night. Taxis were £7 each way, so I think it would be pretty much the same from Turnberry. We used The Roxy, The Hamilton Arms, The Commercial and The Athletic Tavern. Each night we ended up in the Athletic and had a great time. The Roxy does meals and there is an Indian curry house just across the road from it. There's also loads of takeaways if you feel like a munch on the way home.
