Traveling Outer Hebrides by bus, last two weeks in September

We are planning to travel South to North through the Outer Hebrides by bus in the last two weeks in September. Will we easily be able to find public transport and reasonable accomodation, and what sort of weather can we expect ?

Have a look at this site for information on public transport which is pretty limited but it is up to you to navigate the timetables and plan accordingly. cne-siar.gov.uk/travel/busservice/index.asp…

Have a look here for some accommodation providers, but there will be many more who do not subscribe to visitscotland due to the costs visitscotland.com/accommodation/…

Compared with some Hebridean islands, such as Mull and Skye, the bus services on the Outer Hebrides are pretty good. Late September is well out of peak season, so accommodation should not be hard to find, but it's best to go armed with a list and phone ahead as you go.

The weather is always variable and unpredictable in Scotland, and even more than usual in September. Expect sun, wind and rain at times, but it should not be too cold..

it is a brilliant way to travel if you want to meet the locals, dont be afraid to get talking to passengers on the bus!! They have the local knowledge you need, ask them about B and Bs, you could well find a gem.

Many thanks for all this useful information and encouragement. I shall certainly use the websites and hope for lots of great conversations on the buses, Andrew
