Dingle B & B's

We've been trying to get B & B reservations for 25-28 May without success yet. All places have replied no vacancies. Anyone know why this would be? I can't find any special events going on. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.

That is strange. I do not know of anything that would be on and a google search for dingle combined with any of those dates does not reveal anything and nothing is highighted in the local newspaper - http://www.KerryMan.ie

The following weekend contains Mon June 1st which is a public holiday in Ireland, when people would take a long weekend break, but even then i wouldn't expect the town to be booked out.

Aha, Mon 25th May is a public holiday in the UK, so that may be causing an increase in visitors to Ireland. There may be unusual holiday patterns this year due to the global recession.

Have you asked the B&B's why they are booked out?

25-28 May; Are those Arrival and Departure Dates - ie 3 nights in Dingle?

You'll find availability for some on this web-site, where you can make a reservation at no higher cost than if you'd contacted the b&b/guest house direct:

We now have a reservation at Bamburys Guesthouse! One of the other places said there was a hiking group in town, so maybe that's why. Anyway, we're happy now, so thanks for the suggestion.

MtnMarty, I have stayed at Bambury's a few times and liked it. I'm glad you got a reservation somewhere and hope you'll like Bambury's.

Bamburys is very handy for the town and the owners are lovely.

The first pub you will meet when you walk in from the b and b will be O Flahertys, a bit too touristy for my liking, but most people end up there at some stage during their stay.

Have a great trip!

I know this does not affect you but for anyone travelling to Dingle in May:
