Mobile home rentals

I am depending on the expertise of my fellow countrymen, and women for this one, i am looking at renting a mobile home, or "caravan" to the older ones like myself, for a couple of weeks in july, do you know of any camp sites or caravan sites or good holiday home places that will rent , i am not looking at 1 place in particular, just not in Northern Ireland.

For a complete getaway in idyllic surroundings I'd suggest Dunquin, about a 20 minute drive west of Dingle. Most of the tourist traffic is of the daytripper variety, so it's all yours come the evening

Here's a report that captures the ramance of the place:

Lots of info at http://www.dingle-peninsula.ie/ and www.dodingle.com

Hi bgekk: I'll start the ball rolling for you .

Co Kerry.

Co Kilkenny which is very beautiful county.

Co. Waterford

Nagle's have caravan park in Doolin but they don't rent actual caravans . There is a very old caravan park on the famous beach in Fanore, Co Clare but again I'm not sure how you go about renting there . I think most of them are private. Perhaps some of my fellow posters will weigh in here. Not an expert in the camping field :-)

In addition to Soonas the Woodlands park www.kingdomcamping.com is very popular in Tralee,Co.Kerry as is Greens Acres in Castlegregory,Co.Kerry.Castlegregory is a lovely little village, some great pubs,Spillanes in particular & the fab beaches of the Maharees are lovely www.greenacrespark.com

In Tramore in Co.Waterford i can suggest www.fitzmaurisescaravanpark.com

In Dunmore East again in Co.Waterford there are 2 caravan parks Foyles & Queallys, not sure if they have websites. If you need any more info on the ones in Dunmore East, just ask.Queallys is literally 2 mins walk from the beach, with restaurants & pubs within minutes walk.

Duncannon in Co.Wexford is very popular with at least 2 caravan sites. All with easy access to the village & on the Hook Peninsula.

Hope there is some info there to help get you started.

Hi Bgekk

Nice to see you on the 'down south' forum :-)

Another option is Lough Ennell near Mullingar www.caravanparksireland.com/bookinginfo.htm Have friends who have camped there in the past and always enjoyed it

or if you fancy beautiful Co Mayo

http://www.mayocaravans.com/

I know the sites at Cong, Lough Lannagh and Lough Mask (lived beside them) and the scenery at Cong and Lough Mask is spectacular. Cong site is next door to Ashford Castle if you want a bit of grandeur and also beside Lisloughrey Lodge for a tipple or two www.lisloughreylodge.ie Lough Lannagh is just outside (walking distance) Castlebar with the added advantage of being on the Westport Road, and has access to swimming pool in the vicinity if it takes your fancy.

Alternatively, maybe we could negotiate a house swap - you know how much I love up your neck of the woods ;-)
