Bunratty castle from Limerick without car

We are going to be in Limerick on Wednesday. The bus tour we are on wants $90 per person for just the medieval banquet. However it would be nice to see the folk park and Durty Nellies as well. I have seen where some people have posted that they got tickets for less online. Is this true. If so, can we get from the Absolut Hotel in Limerick to Bunratty castle And back? Also is it too late to do this? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. We have a party of five. Thank you.

The Bus Eireann 343 Limerick to Shannon Airport Bus runs via Bunratty. You can get discounts for Bunratty by booking on line with Shannon Heritage. It should not cost too much in a Taxi from Limerick if you compare the cost of this to 5 bus fares?

We just had the same experience. We took a cab from the Radisson to Bunratty for 15 Euro. We visited the park and castle and ate at the Creamery Bar across the street. It was full of charm and atmosphere plus the food was great! Our evening was very enjoyable and much cheaper than the 95 Euro for a touristy medieval banquet at another castle.

Skip the banquet... its fun for 5 mins tops.

Get a cab from the city centre to Bunratty, $95.. dont pay it, you are being ripped off.

Wow, that is expensive.

Yes, cab or bus it.

I'm not a big fan of Durty Nellys either - its quite touristy, the staff can be a little brusque...and that 1646 date over the door is a lie, the place was built in 1804 to collect money from the river.

There, probably of little help....... but do go with the other's advice and don't spend that much on the night!!:)

I hope you enjoy your stay!
