More of Ireland after Dublin?

I'll be going to a conference in Dublin for six days, so I'll have plenty of time to explore the city. I'd like to stay in the UK for a few more days after the conference, but I'm torn between two different choices: explore more of Ireland, or go to London. Any ideas? I'd love to hear from anyone living in Ireland what recommended areas are accessible by rail from Dubin, and any other recommendation/comment is welcome.

Cheers!

Just to let you know.....the Republic of Ireland is not in the UK :)

However, Northern Ireland is part of UK. Maybe have a glance at a map of the island of Ireland, to orient yourself.
