Power Shower

My wife and I will be leaving for Ireland in three weeks and are busy checking out the B&B listings. After looking at hundreds of descriptions I have only one really important question.

What in the heck is a "power shower?"

I've seen it listed a number of times and I am mystified. I have the mental image of skinny dipping through an automated carwash and losing several layers of skin in the process.

Can anyone give me a definition?

1. Re: Power Shower

Power shower = a shower where the pump is electric. It only heats and pumps hot water to that specific shower.

A normal shower would generally run from the mains central heating/tank system.

Advantages to a power shower:

1. Not dependent on the owner turning on the central heating/full house hot water system.

2. Continual hot water flow (in older central heating systems, if someone turned on a tap elsewhere, it might remove the hot water from the shower).

3. You can control the temperature (up and down)

4. 99% of the time a power shower will be warmer then a normal shower.

Hope this explains it.

-A very good explanation. The pressure would also be better. Cheers.

It feels a bit like a hot power washer. Great to wake you up in the morning. Feels like its blasting the cellulite to bits - unfortunately I never see the evidence :o(

You and me both, Bean :-(

Also, if you put them on full, they create a mini tornado and the shower curtain attacks you!

Very good.:-) I think they're better than the alternative trickle of water you can sometimes get.
