Cashel visit from Dublin

I will be in Dublin during the first week of April 2013. My plans could include a day-visit to Cashel either going there independently by bus, or through some tour company.

Thus far I have been able to locate only one tour company that offers a one-day tour of Cashel (Paddywagon), but I have not been able to confirm that they run on April or whether the tour is still available.

I would like to hear comments about these possibilities or information about other companies that run tours to Cashel.

The only other option I can find is a half or full day tour from Kilkenny and that tour is year round.

There is a bus from Dublin to Cork which stops in Cahir, which has a castle worth having a look at, you could then get a taxi to Cashel - I cannot see that there is a bus between Cahir and Cashel, which seems a bit unlikely.

If you are searching for Cashel you need to be aware that you have to specify Tipperary as there are several places of that name.

Cahir and Cashel are on the No8 bus route between Dublin to Cork so easy to do yourself.

Thanks for the information posted in this forum. I am considering doing my visit to Cashel traveling by Bus and staying overnight in the town. As I understand, a couple of hours will be enough to enjoy the"Rock".

It is somewhat surprising that no other tour company seem to have a tour to Cashel from Dublin. As far as I know there is none either from Cork my next destination after Dublin.
