B& B availability in May

Was told most B&Bs close during winter. Will most all B&Bs be open in May? Early May? Is May still considered "off season", i.e. fewer tourists?

Monday 6th May, 2013 is a Bank Holiday in Ireland, which will make the whole weekend (3rd - 6th) a bit busier than normal.

Check if there are special events at the locations you intend visiting.

May and September are "shoulder season". Generally fewer tourists, but most places will be open at that time. We've never had a problem finding B&Bs in May.

Good advise from Uasal. We are arriving Friday the 3rd and will have accommodations arranged for the first few days before we arrive due to the holiday. The rest of the trip, until the 28th we will wing it. We will reserve a B&B for the 29th ahead of time for our last night.

May is a great time to visit. Have a great time!!
