6 days in Ireland, end of sept 13 for our honeymoon.

Looking for a trip on about 5- $600 usd spending money over 6 days. Flying into Dublin. We would like to see and learn history and culture, and some views to remember. Ok with a couple hours driving each day but don't want our trip to be remembered sitting in a car. Any suggestions would be appreciated, bonus for any that would put a smile in the new mrs. Eyes. Thank you in advance!

What do you want this $500 - $600 to cover? Accommodations, food, car rental, pub tabs, attractions admissions, tours, etc? You need to provide more information.

This is for entertainment, meals, and gas. Flight, hotel, and car rental would be covered.

Meals alone are going to be a big expense. On our two trips to Ireland, we had breakfast at the B&B, ate a picnic lunch from food we bought at the supermarket and a pub dinner with one drink. That was pretty bare-bones dining/drinking, yet I would estimate we spent a minimum of 45 euros per day on food. For 6 days, that would be the equivalent of $360. With gas costing the equivalent of around $8 per gallon, a tank of gas is going to cost you at least $100.

What is the amount in Euros?

Most of us here haven't a clue about the exchange rate.

US $500 - $600 is roughly 370 to 450 Euro, at today's rate.

I am confused.

Whereabouts are you actually staying for the 6 nights? If it is Dublin and day trips out in a hire car then you won't see much.

Your budget is way out with food and petrol included in my opinion and I think that you should go back to the drawing board regarding that.

You will need more $ than that to have a fun time, and after all it's your honeymoon. Having a good B&B breakfast will get you started ...we usually just had a snack mid-day and ate in the pub each evening, and as already stated here, it still adds up to more $ than you expect. Especially if you enjoy a Guinness or two. Most restaurants offer an early dinner special, that saves quite a bit of $$, so you might want to investigate that. Seems like they started at 5 or 6 pm. The pubs are great because the entertainment is free, and the best music you will find. We haven't been to Dublin, but I've heard it's more expensive. We flew into Shannon and toured the west, on both trips we've done.
