I am visiting Ireland with my girlfriend this April for a week. We've already been to Ireland before and visited Dublin, Galway, Cliffs of Moher and the Burren etc. I've even been on my own two times and visited Cork and Belfast.
I'm having a bit of hard time deciding on itinerary this time. We will be spending at least 2 days in Dublin, maybe even 3; take a bike tour one day and see things we missed before. Another day we were thinking of taking DART to one of the coastal towns surrounding Dublin, take a walk on the beach and just take it easy. Which one would you suggest? Bray, Greystones, Skerries, Balbriggan?
The more important thing that is bothering me is where to go on the other days? The best bet for us would be to hire a car but alas, that's impossible so we will have to do with public transport. My first idea was to visit south-east because I haven't been there before but I'm a little afraid if we make a base in say, Waterford, will we have enough to do for two or three days? Just on a side-note, we prefer faster-paced sightseeing, and are not exactly types to spend hours upon hours in museums but would rather hire a bike and ride along the coast.
Second option would be to base ourselves in Limerick. I guess we could easily spend two or three days in the city alone but I would like to see the country side as well. We could book a tour with one of the companies or maybe even take a bus to Ennis or even to Loop Head if there is such a line.
Third option is to visit Belfast, Derry and take a day tour of Donegal but I haven't given it much thought yet.
I know the post might be a little confusing but that's how I'm feeling as well so if nothing more, I would like a suggestion on which of the itineraries seems the best to you. :)
