Critique my Rough Itinerary Please!

My wife and I will be visiting Ireland for the first time this June and I'm currently working on our itinerary. We will only be there for 6 nights and want to see the beautiful scenery, enjoy the pubs and culture, and take in the rich history of Ireland. We booked through a package deal so our first night has to be in Dublin and our last night, at a hotel in Powerscourt Estate.

This is what I have so far and would really appreciate any suggestions. Besides the first and last night's hotel stays, nothing is set in stone and can easily be changed! We'll be using a rental car for our journey.

Day 1 - Explore Dublin

Day 2 - Leave early for Galway. Stop at Clonmacnoise on the way. Spend the day exploring the city and surroundings. Spend night in Galway.

Day 3 - Head to Connemara National Park and spend the day there. Come back that evening and stay in Galway for the night.

Day 4 - Check out of hotel and head to see the Cliffs of Moher. Continue on to Ennis and spend the night there.

Day 5 - Depart Ennis and head towards Kilkenny. Stop and visit the Rock of Cashel on the way. Spend the night in Kilkenny.

Day 6 - Depart for Powerscourt.

This is all I have so far. I haven't narrowed in on all sights to see/ places to eat but this is a rough draft. I originally had hoped to get to Cork but I just don't think we have enough time in 7 days and we don't want to spend our entire time traveling. Does this itinerary look to busy or would we be okay?

Thanks in advance!

Lee

too many drags to get a short URL but a couple of twitches on your basic map.

Have included the Kylemore valley from Cong to Leenane then the Sky and Old Bog Rd's route through Nenagh and Thurles and via Glendalough and the Wicklow mountains to Powerscourt.

Thanks Tony! I'm trying to save your new route onto my map but it's not working....argh!! When I go to save it to my map it only brings in chopped segments... hmmm..

Might be best to just start a new one taking the bits from each that you want. The problem is when you put too many bits in you have to construct in segments and save to a main. takes a little time and consistent internet connection which I am really struggling with over recent weeks!! Going to turn father Jack on "3" network very shortly..

Alright, right on! I saved piece by piece and now I have your entire route saved, thank you! Do you think it would be straight forward to print off all these route directions and use them as our guide. Or should we get a GPS backup just in case?

Just print out each leg on A4 there is nothing too complex, apart from a couple of small bits they are all N or R routes. My directions for the Sky road are in the earlier link and a few other Connemara spots are linked in this map http://goo.gl/maps/YWRDz
