Careful now - roads affected by frost

Lots of weather warnings on the radio from all over the place. Locally, Conor Pass in closed and roads around Killarney and Kenmare need extra care.

Any snow spiceloft?

We've had a Blizzard here the past two days: airport closed, schools closed, no public transport and most folk staying at home. Just hope it's all going to clear up by the weekend, when I'll be flying into Cork.

It's looking pretty cold for Ireland next week!

Forecast is for improvement on Thurs. No snow worth talking about in Cork/Kerry though the mountains have some on the peaks.

Oooh - snow on the peaks sounds ok! Hopefully a photo opportunity.

Thanks, spiceloft.

There was a comment on FB yesterday from a group visiting Nenagh about snow flurries..I thought it was a bit extreme as we had seen nothing,, but sure enough there is snow from the Slive Bloom and the Silvermines as I turned right overlooking Lough Derg this morning.

Wow, tony! I'll be up there next weekend (23-24th) for 10 days. Do hope it warms up a bit!

That's certainly true, tony ;-)

It was very cold at half-term, but we managed to get out and about. Just not used to such cold at this time of the year.
