Clifden is a good base for Connemara http://goo.gl/maps/L5ihu

Ennis is a great touring base for County Clare as a whole and that includes over here in the East by Lough Derg not just 1/2 mile of Cliff and a bit of moonscape. I would use Ennis for both nights Bunratty Castle is not a Hotel, Bunratty castle Hotel is in Bunratty which consists 2 villages and not very exciting. Probably not worth moving Half an hour down the M18 just for the sake of it?

"Day 5 - Cahir & Cashel/overnight Kinsale

Day 6 - Cobh & Midleton/overnight Kinsale" I'd go from Cashel to Cobh and stay there, handy spin from Cashel down the motorway and the town of Cobh is quite easily reached. Otherwise you are doubling back on yourself needlessly.
