Visa to visit?

I started reading the top questions on the right and it seems that we need a visa as a tourist? Is that correct or did I miss something?

If you are a US citizen, you won't need a Visa unless you are planning to stay longer than 3 months or planning to work here

Not only do you not need a visa to visit, US Customs/Immigration and TSA have personnel at the Irish airports so that you prescreen before even leaving Ireland and then land in the US like a domestic flight.

I've heard that! That's good news for us coming into O-Hare. However, I have also read that you need to get to the Dublin airport a full 3 hours in advance, for us that's 7 a.m. While I would love to stay in the beach town nearby overnight, I think we'll probably turn our car in the night before and hunker down at an airport hotel.
