One Day cooking class

Can anyone recommend a one day cooking class. Baking sconces or bread would be great. Thanks!

Depending on where you'll be, there are numerous cooking schools/classes in Ireland.

Ballymaloe is probably the most famous. They have 1/2 day and full day classes/demonstrations. Have a look at their schedule here www.cookingisfun.ie

I attended a 1/2 day course earlier this year and it was very good, and very well organised.

Don't know if any of these offer day courses, but have a look to see

Catherine Fulvio has cooking classes here http://thecookeryschool.ie/

The Dublin Cookery School in Blackrock, Cooks Academy and The Donnybrook Fair would all be reputable in Dublin city

The delightful Ghan House in the picturesque medieval Carlingford may be one to look at too ghanhouse.com/cookery-school-special-events/… They tailormake classes.

There are lots of places scattered across the country - google and you find many, particularly as you don't state when/where you will be.

Depending on how many of you there are, Causey Farm might fit the bill. They have bread making as part of their activities. Might be worth a contact to see if you could link with another group http://www.causey.ie/recipes/brown-soda-bread

As an alternative, and probably the better option. Find an Irish Mammy and ask her to teach you how to make her bread and scones. My own mum makes the best brown bread ever - with a handful of this, and a pinch of that, but it would appear that I will never be able to replicate it. I can never get it just right!

Brennan & Co on Oliver Plunkett Street (Cork City centre) also run cookery classes over their kitchen shop - http://cookshop.ie/shop/153-cooking-classes.
