like everyone else, I need some itineray help..

so, we are taking part of our honeymoon in Ireland in July. We are beyond excited. We are flying in from Amsterdam to Dublin (so it wont be super jet laggy). I was thinking of going to Galway and working our way back to Dublin.

I was thinking the following:

Day 1 and 2: Galway (drive straight from Dublin airport)

Day 3 Doolin overnight- from what I have read seems like a good mid way point to the next stop and is close to a lot things including the cliffs

Day 4 and 5- Dingle- everyone says it is not to be missed..from what I have seen online, we should take the ferry

Day 6- either Kenmare or Kilkenny

Day 7- do I do both? and do the 2nd night in Kilkenny?

Day 8,9,10 (either thrusday-sunday or Friday-sunday) Dublin

Here is the thing about us- we are City ppl. We like to go to pubs and walk our way home. We love music and would want to be in areas where there is stuff going on at night, which is why we are starting and ending in Cities.

I am open to any thoughts, or suggestions regarding the above that anyone may have.

Thanks in advance!!

take Shannonferries.com / to Tarbet, Kerry

follow signs on N69 towards Listowel and Tralee

then N22 for Killarney.

As you come into Farranfore, the Dingle road R561

is on your right-hand side next to "Centra" convenience store/

Leaving Dingle Peninsula also drive the Ring of Kerry

stopping in Waterville at the Butler's Arms hotel for lunch.

Charlie Chaplin spent his summer vacation's here for some

ten years in the 60's and 70's.

Sounds like a good plan to me! I haven't visited Kilkenny but Kenmare was one of my favorite towns - plus very walkable, lots of restaurants, pubs, etc. And speaking from experience, Dingle Peninsula is definitely NOT to be missed. In my opinion, some of the most beautiful scenery I saw in all of Ireland. Everyone speaks of the Cliffs of Moher but what stands out in my mind were the vistas of Dingle.

I just left this feedback for someone else - is Day 10 the day you fly out of Dublin or is that another full day? If days 8, 9 and 10 are all full days, in my opinion you can experience enough of Dublin in two full days and save that extra day for one of the other towns.

It's quite an aggressive driving schedule (not that it can't be done, but keep in mind that things move MUCH slower in Ireland and what takes an hour to drive in the U.S. may take 3 in Ireland)... also remember you will drive by things you might want to stop for randomly along the way, such as photo stops and pubs or restaurants. But you will have a great time!

@ happy traveler day 10 is our fly out day.

It is all out of driving which is why I adding the kenmare stop. I can wiggle in a day somewhere. What do you think the biggest drive us ? Doolin to dingle? I don't know if I'd stop btw. Open to suggestions?

You don't need any more time between Doolin and Dingle. Any extra days should be added in the Killarney/Kenmare/Kilkenny area. There's a lot to see between Dingle and Kenmare, if you want to see Killarney National Park, you might want to add a night. And the drive from Killarney to Kenmare is very challenging, especially at the end of the day when you're facing the oncoming tour buses.

I would also suggest trying to take in Rock of Cashel and leave plenty of time for Kilkenny. We spent two night/one full day around Dublin and that was enough for us.

do we do the extra night in Kenmare or Kilkenny- I would like to see the Rock of Chasel. I was thinking of Kenmare as a stop over btw Dingle and Kilkenny. If we want to see the ring of Kerry, does it need to be a two day stop?

One night in Kilkenny might be enough.
