AuthenticIreland.com reveiws?

Hi,

I (we) are planning our honeymoon to Ireland this July. We had originally contacted a local travel agent however it quickly became overwhelming. Two of our friends lead us to authenticireland.com and said that they had a great time and stress free planning.

I sent them a list of places we wished to see over our 11-12 night stay. They came back with an itinerary and offered many options to customize it to our desires. Also offered to book flights based upon our departure and return dates.

Has anyone else booked with this company, and how was your experience?

It's our first time to Ireland and just came upon this website, lots of good info for our first visit.

Thanks!

"a list of places we wished to see over our 11-12 night stay" many people just come to the forum with that information and get a lot of different options all independent, all free of charge,

If you planned your wedding (you wouldn't trust that to a shop window web site) you can plan your Honeymoon Itinerary (congratulations) will far less stress.

Ask us what you asked them and compare,

And I'm sure we can come up with some really great suggestions for accommodation (depending on where you plan to visit).

It's really easy to book your own flights, car rental and accommodation :

tripadvisor.co.uk/Travel-g186591-c138981/Ire…

Car rental is where many first-time visitors fall down, because they don't read the terms & conditions on the rental site, or understand the various insurances etc. It can be a bit of a minefield, but have a read of this :

tripadvisor.co.uk/Travel-g186591-c138899/Ire…

Then contact these two companies for quotes - which will include all elements listed on above article, plus all insurances :

And if you can tell us when you'll be arriving in Ireland, when you'll be leaving, and where you're thinking of visiting, we'll see what we can come up with!

tony is right....authentic Ireland cheated a lot of people out of their money when they filed bankruptcy and are now operated as irish welcome tours.....it's also been reported that the owners of authentic Ireland are now a part of irish welcome tours.....

you can go up at the top part of the page to their search engine and type in authentic Ireland and read horror stories from travelers and owners of accommodations about the loss of their money....

I certainly would never use them....I mean the original owners now work for the new owners??????.....

As Americans planning our first trip to Ireland in May, 2014, we also started with the idea of an escorted tour. Researching travel sites and tour companies we decided to throw caution to the wind and plan our own self-drive 9 day tour. You have to do your research, but it's been a lot of fun.

Best recommendation I can give is to use this forum. People are not only very helpful, they are also very patient with novices. Just ask away. The variety of opinions is helpful as to figuring out what you really want to do with your time. You'll find that your focus narrows as you research your options. Narrows in a good way. These people know what they are talking about and have no ulterior motives. Unlike tour companies.
