Where to go in Ireland

Any help would be great.

There shall be 3 of use going to Ireland for a week - we were thinking end of August. Basically we want somewhere scenic like Enniskerry but that also has pubs and live music througout the week with lots of culture rather than tourists. We will be coming over from England so somewhere near a ferry port or airport would be great but we were thinking of hiring a car so within an hour and half drive is fine.

1. Re: Where to go in Ireland

Birmingham being your closest airport gives a few options, Dublin, Shannon, Cork, Knock even Waterford.. plus either of 2 Belfast options or Derry up north.

You will find a whole lot of places to match your requirements, so,,apart from a shortage of fellow tourists, a selection of bars and a bit of music.. where would you ;like to see, what would you like to do and when would you like to do it?
