Lodging reservations necessary for June?

We will spend 9 days in Ireland in June. We will fly in and out of Shannon visiting Clifden, Galway, Doolin, Dingle, Kinsale and Cork. We were planning on making lodging reservations for our first night and the night of our 30th anniversary (probably. Dromoland. Castle). We plan on spending most of our nights in B & B's but don't want to be tied to our lodging plans so that we can take our time and just go where the road takes us. Is this reasonable at this time of the year or should we plan on making more lodging arrangements?

No problem, just come and see where the wind takes you.

If there are just two of you, with a car, in June, you should be ok.

The first weekend is a holiday so if you're traveling that weekend you might want to book. Other than that June is much quieter thanks mid July to mid August!

Two 60+ people plan to do (nearly) the same in May or June 2015, for 2 weeks ! Any holidays or dates to avoid? All suggestions and comments appreciated. Dates are flexible and we will rent a car. Thanks :) Would consider short stay vacation rental(s).

We are looking at a very similar trip next May, also hoping to be able to wander and stop for night as we please without a definite plan...thank you for asking the question!

The weekends of the first Monday in May and June are Bank Holiday weekends so you would need to consider booking for those.

And bear in mind when Easter will occur. The schools are closed the weeks either side of the Easter weekend.
