Where to stop overnight on the way from Shannon to Dingle

We would like to stop overnight somewhere about half-way between Shannon and Dingle on our first night in Ireland to break up the drive and slowly acclimate to driving on the left. Can't seem to figure this out with the guidebooks we're using. Looking for suggestions.

Its a 3 hour drive between the two.. Adare is the tourist choice, Listowel would be mine and Tralee is also an option although getting there you might as well push on the extra hour, You could stay north of the Shannon and drive down the following day using the first day for South Clare, You could spend the first day in Limerick.. there are lots of options if you don't feel you can handle the whole drive.
