@dokgolf:

I hope you don't mind my jumping in with this recent Irish Examiner Guide to the Wild Atlantic Way:

Thats a much better report than the Failte Ireland one. Apparently there are 35 " highly recommended" spots on the trail. I spent the guts of an hour last night trying to find out what they are. Ended up downloading 70 and 80 page documents that still didn't tell me.

The various newspaper articles below have taken slightly different angles on The Wild Atlantic Way and the focus can vary by location, activity and so on:

From the UK: The Independent, 15th March, 2014: covers the full route from Donegal to Cork:

The Toronto Star had a slew of articles on Ireland, including on The Wild Atlantic Way (focus on Co Kerry) during February 2014:

Focus on Co Cork, from the BBC:

An overview here on February 28, 2014 from The Belfast Telegraph:

Have bookmarked the lot of them. Thanks Uasal! Funny enough I hadn't looked at the Star yet.

Greetings All

My appetite for more Ireland is now at fever pitch researching The Wild Atlantic Way. I have often groaned inside when visitors to Ireland post itineraries encompassing most of the country in a week. I usually like to stay put and do day trips, but obviously this trip will involve lots of driving, living out of a wheelie bag, sleeping in a different location every night or 2.. Looking at May or September next year, and wanting to take a few weeks to see as much of the WAW as possible. Probably starting at Giants Causway after flying into DUB and flying out of Shannon. Realistically, and without rushing, how much time should we allow for this journey ??

Any suggestions ?
