Pet Food Stores between Ennis and Dingle????

I know : a strange one!!

Dd and I will be driving from east Clare down to Dingle in a couple of weeks time, and I want to call into an animal rescue and donate some food, possible horse halters, blankets etc. They're located just outside Castleisland, so I thought maybe Ennis, Limerick or even Tralee, as we could stop by on the return journey. I'm thinking big bags of food, rather than a couple of tins, which is why I wondered if anyone could suggest a pet store that might sell larger bags as well as other items like rugs, blankets etc?

And DD would love to buy Rio (from Pax House) a treat!!

Your help, as always, much appreciated! Thank you :-)

Pet Mania in the Jetland Retail Park have big bags of dog food. They also have dog blankets etc.

I think its mainly small animals that they cater for rather than larger animals.

There is a saddlery on O'Connell Street in Limerick (harking back to times long gone!!)

Do you want to buy some horse head collars and rugs?

No advice, but you are a kind person.

Is Pet Mania that large pet superstore over there? I have visited a couple of them. Also what about country stores?

Rhyno Mills in Castleisland do cattle and sheep feed but they also have a farm shop and may do horse and dog feed in bulk

I'd suggest you get head collars and lead ropes for the horsies, there are NEVER enough. Rugs are starting to come off horses now, as the spring coats are coming through or horses may have wintered without them. The other issue is that rugs, like horses come on lots of different sizes, so you might spend lots on a rug for a horse, when there is none horse that size in the rescue centre. My boyo is only 15.2 but takes a 16.2size rug due to errrmmm... girth. His field mate, also 15.2 needs a far smaller rug.

Headcollars come in different sizes too, so you could get some pony, some cob and some horse if you'd like. They don't vary like rugs do, hence only three different sizes.
