Driving from Doolin to Dublin.

We will be staying in Doolin for two nights then heading towards Dublin. Can you please recommend any town that is in between the two where we could stay for a night. We do not want to drive straight from Doolin to Dublin in one day. Would like to stop maybe half way and stay for a night somewhere between the two. Thank you!!

Athlone would be closer to Dublin but not by much.

Depends on which way you want to go, but Birr might be a choice. Its has a castle and an observatory which is well worth a look.
