Any suggestions on where to stop for a cuppa and/or lunch between Dublin and Cork?
There are services at Junction 8 - Cashel - I have never used them so I cant comment. Other than that you will have to go off the motorway.
There are also great services at Junction 14, Mayfield services at the Monasterevin junction on the M7.
Junction 9 has a drive through Mac Donalds and drive through shop
Another vote for exit 14 off the M7, handy spot to stretch the legs. Haven't used any offerings off the M8 so can't comment on those I'm afraid.
Dublin to Cork City on the M8 ( Toll road )
Exit 14 and take the R 639 Dublin road towards
Fermoy town for about one mile
and on your left-hand-side you'll see a garage
called Amber Fuel services its brand new
with a restaurant
Also you'll be able to avoid the toll close by
and drive into Fermoy town and follow signs for the N8
and then back onto the M8.
The Cashel stop is quite dear for fuel and with the McDonalds gets very busy.
Where to purchase cheaper fuel on route ?
PUMPS.IE / ( There's an ongoing problem with this site
from time to time its down so keep trying )
Hey, you're on holiday? Take the time to drive into Cashel itself and find a decent pub or cafe.
Thank you for all your replies. Junction 14, Mayfield off the M7, was super and definitely recommendable for a brilliant choice of meals. Excellent shop too. The toilets were so clean!
