Itinerary Check

Hello all, headed to Ireland for my husband's 40th birthday in November (why couldn't he have born in June???). I have been reading the forums and have come up with a loose itinerary. For background, there will be 4 of us traveling. Would like a combination of sight seeing, leisure, and soaking up the local charm so don't want to have every second booked. I have reservations at the B&Bs I've noted but all are easily cancelled in advance. We do want to stay within walking distance of town as our evenings will be spent enjoying the pub life. I know that the days will be short at that time of year so hopefully this is all doable. I am all ears if you have any suggestions.

Nov 21 - 23 – Dublin

Hotel: The Shelbourne Dublin

Activities: Arrive, walk and nap off jet lag, Guiness tour (Nov 21) Bike Tour of Dublin (Nov 22), Temple Bar for dinner and pubs

Nov 23 - pick up rental car

Nov 23 - 24 – Cork: Dublin to Cork 255 km, approx. 3 hours (or via Waterford 293km, approx. 4 hours)

B&B: Garnish House http://www.garnish.ie/

Activities: English Market, Blarney Castle

Nov 24-25: Kinsale

B&B: Open

Activities: Open

Nov 25 - 26: Killarney: Kinsale to Killarny 86 km, approx. 1 ½ hours

B&B: Killaran House http://www.killaran-killarney.com/

Activities: Killarney Falconry (http://killarneyfalconry.com/index.html), or if guys want to golf, this may be a good day for it

Nov 26 – 28: Dingle: Killarney to Dingle 65 km, approx. 1 ½ hours

B&B: Greenmount House http://greenmount-house.com/

Activites: Hike: Muckros House, Torc Waterfall (Nov 26) Drive: Slea Head Drive (Nov 27), maybe golf?

Nov 28 – 29: Shannon: Dingle to Bunratty 165 km, approx. 2 hours 45 min

B&B: Bunratty Villa B&B http://www.bunrattyvilla.com/

Activities: Dromoland Castle, Bunratty Castle

Nov 29 – fly out of Shannon

Any thoughts?

It looks like a well paced itinerary to me. On you journey Dublin to Cork, if not going via Waterford, you could consider visiting the Rock of Cashel and/or twenty minutes drive further on, Cahir Castle.

When leaving Dingle for Bunratty, and providing it is a clear day, I suggest that you travel over the Conor Pass as your route to Bunratty - http://goo.gl/maps/OdzLR
