Doolon, Ballyvaughan or other?

Looking for beautiful scenery with still a good pub nearby and good accommodation. Favorite town? B&B?

Ballyvaughan is quiter than Doolin, a more traditional town (prettier) with nice views over Galway bay - and close to places like Bishop's Quarter.

Doolin is nice - hopping, a good base also, and has the advantage ofthe ferry service to the Arans.

Lahinch is also very nice, great pubs, quie lively - again more of a traditional town feel.

All three are coastal and excellent bases for touring the Burren.

Would agree with Ferdia. About 3 km from Lahinch is Liscannor. A lovely little fishing village between Lahinch and the Cliffs. Two good pubs, Egans and Vaughans and very good fish in Vaughans also. You can go sea angling from the little harbour, recommended. There are 2 hotels in the village and Vaughans also do b&b www.vaughans.ie

Further south on Loop Head is Carraigaholt, about 10km from Kilkee. Lively little village on the Shannon estury with a nice beach and daily trips to go dolphin watching. Good fishing from the pier, plus the dolphins are regular visitors. For pubs you have Keanes, Morrissons, and Carmodys. For food you have Fennells and The Long Dock, LD is also a bar.
